Firenze… Che bella sei!

Hello everyone!

Today we travel again to Florence, at least in a virtual way. We want to share our experience realizing coolhunting tasks in the beautiful Italian city, one of our favorites! Every year when we go to the Pitti Bimbo fair, the Minicool Team takes advantage of this great event for the children’s sector to search for inspiration, new ideas and trends.

Firenze, the Renaissance city is always very generous with us, as we return with our mind full of new ideas, inspiration and enthusiasm to start new collections and color combinations.

Walking around Florence, as many of you will know if you have visited it, it is always fascinating. Normally we don’t have much free time, but we take every minute, every second, to enrich from the details of the city. During this trip we have been very lucky as there has been really good weather, which has allowed us to enjoy some wonderful sunsets and marvellous light.

When you travel the streets of Florence you can find plenty of different things. The anciente and modern merges so it seems they can not live one without the other. The handicraft industry, the international brands with the fascinating local businesses. It’s really inspiring!

Our biggest discovery during this trip has been a fascinating antique shop, from which we wouldn’t have left for a week! It’s located in an alley near the Duomo; from the shopfront you could see a red bike from the 50s, a few backlit letters, boxes and wooden objects. When we entered we discovered treasures like ancient glassware to furniture, posters of Italian nursery schools, toys, old movies… All shared between two rooms and a small hallway.

At the end of the room we saw what looked like a wall full of paper coils, in a third room. Our first thought was that it seemed a replica of the ancient library of Alexandria, imagine how awesome it was. We walked quietly because we did not know whether it was an open stay to the public… We found shelves full of paper srolled up to the ceiling. We took one of them, carefully unrolled it and found a wonderful floral print from the 40s!! We were surrounded by jewels! It has certainly been the treasure of this trip. It was exciting to meet so many old drawings, and we did some souvenir photos.

Apart from this shop, we visited some that we found on our way, from a stationery shop, a shop with industrial tools or a jewelry in the Ponte Vecchio. We also went to one of the reference shops in the world of Florentine fashion, Luisa Via Roma, with a Pitti Bimbo tribute showcase that featured the Looney Tunes family dressed by different designers for the occasion.

We are excited to share with you some of the pictures we took on our tour, so you can see that even an ice cream can be inspiring…

We hope you enjoy them!
