TRAVEL REPORT: WILLIAMSBURG, NY

Since gentrification did its job, back at the end of the 90´s, Williamsburg has become the mecca of artists, hipsters, designers and anyone who wants to live surrounded by art and music. That’s why it keeps being a place you must visit if you’re looking for new trends and inspiration.

Towards the south, you can hear a majority of Yiddish-Hasidim speakers, towards north Polish, Italians and yuppies. East is populated by Italians, Afro-Americans, and Hispanics, meanwhile, Hipsters have taken Bedford Avenue.
With this mix of cultures and languages, it is not strange that the neighborhood shows off colorful street art examples that welcome the visitors and relate the history of this part of Brooklin.

Among all the beautiful and carefully decorated business of Williamsburg, we chose Olive Pink to spend some time. A wonderful little shop at the very center of the hipster neighborhood where it is possible to find kids & adults books, and a wide range of cute decoration and kids products. Like a warehouse for beautiful things. An interesting place to find cute and cool prints and patterns for babies.

Williamsburg Flea Market: A curious mix of products can be found in the several stores at this urban market. Minimal designs coexist with vintage goods and carefully crafted products. All these styles, despite their differences, create an eclectic ambient that works perfectly. Furthermore, the views of Manhattan add a special touch, during the spring and summer months in which the market is located near the river.
